Il CRS4 is an interdisciplinary research center promoting the study, development and application of innovative solutions to problems stemming from natural, social and industrial environments. The main objective is innovation. The mission is to help Sardinia to build and support a layer of modern high tech industries considered essential to its economic and cultural development.

Archimede Solar Energy, a company of the Italian Industrial Group Angelantoni and participated by the Japanese Chiyoda Corporation and the Saudi Arabia Fal Holdings, is a world leader in the production of solar receiver tubes for thermodynamic power plants with parabolic trough collectors. The receivers developed and produced by Archimede Solar Energy, with the contribution of ENEA, are designed to operate at high temperatures (up to 580° C) with all types of heat transfer fluid used in current CSP power plants.

Innovative Micro Solar Heat and Power System for Domestic and Small Business Residential Buildings - or more synthetically "Innova MicroSolar" is the name given to the prestigious Horizon 2020 project launched in September 2016 in which Elianto, along with other European powerful Partners will carry on a significant research and development activity. The primary objective is to develop an innovative solution of thermodynamic solar energy production systems to be constructed on the roofs of residential buildings or areas near them. The project officially started the 1st of September 2016 and will last 48 months. The project, with a total value of about four million euros, involves the following partners:
